"Power failed high fantasy here; yet, swift to move

Even as a wheel moves equal, free from jars,

Already my heart and will were wheeled by love,

The Love that moves the sun and other stars."

Wepwawet in hieroglyphs

In late Egyptian mythology, Wepwawet' (hieroglyphic wp-w3w.t; also rendered Upuaut, Wep-wawet, Wepawet, and Ophois) was originally a war deity, whose cult centre was Asyut in Upper Egypt (Lycopolis in the Greco-Roman period). His name means, opener of the ways. Some interpret that Wepwawet was seen as a scout, going out to clear routes for the army to proceed forward.[1] One inscription from the Sinai states that Wepwawet "opens the way" to king Sekhemkhet's victory.[2]

Wepwawet originally was seen as a wolf deity, thus the Greek name of Lycopolis, meaning city of wolves, and it is likely the case that Wepwawet was originally just a symbol of the pharaoh, seeking to associate with wolf-like attributes, that later became deified as a mascot to accompany the pharaoh. Likewise, Wepwawet was said to accompany the pharaoh on hunts, in which capacity he was titled (one with) sharp arrow more powerful than the gods.

Wepwawet Over time, the connection to war, and thus to death, led to Wepwawet also being seen as one who opened the ways to, and through, duat, for the spirits of the dead. Through this, and the similarity of the jackal to the wolf, Wepwawet became associated with Anubis, a deity that was worshiped in Asyut, eventually being considered his son. Seen as a jackal, he also was said to be Set's son. Consequently, Wepwawet often is confused with Anubis.[2] This deity appears in the Temple of Seti I at Abydos.[2]

In later Egyptian art, Wepwawet was depicted as a wolf or a jackal, or as a man with the head of a wolf or a jackal. Even when considered a jackal, Wepwawet usually was shown with grey, or white fur, reflecting his lupine origins. He was depicted dressed as a soldier, as well as carrying other military equipment—a mace and a bow.

For what generally is considered to be lauding purposes of the pharaohs, a later mythos briefly was circulated claiming that Wepwawet was born at the sanctuary of Wadjet, the sacred site for the oldest goddess of Lower Egypt that is located in the heart of Lower Egypt. Consequently, Wepwawet, who had hitherto been the standard of Upper Egypt alone, formed an integral part of royal rituals, symbolizing the unification of Egypt.

In the late pyramid texts, Wepwawet is called "Re who has gone up from the horizon," perhaps as the "opener" of the sky.[2] In the later Egyptian funerary context, Wepwawet assists at the Opening of the mouth ceremony and guides the deceased into the netherworld.[2]

The Papyrus of Ani, Chapter 185
Copyright 1997 by Neil Parker.

Text:

Praise of Osiris at the head of the West, Wen-Nefer at the heart of Abydos, by the Osiris Ani, true of voice:

He says, O my lord, passing through eternity, whose being is infinite,

Lord of lords, king of kings, prince, god of gods,

They who are with you [?] [come] before before you as gods and people.

I have made their places at the head of the underworld.

They beseech the forms of your ka, they who come for millions and millions of years, arriving and establishing the balance for you on [your] body, their faces turned toward you.

No delay arises for them in Egypt. Behold, they come to you, the mortal ones, the great like the little.

Let him enter and leave the underworld without repulse at the doors of the netherworld, to the ka of the Osiris Ani.

Matthew 27 (King James Version)

Matthew 27

1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

36 And sitting down they watched him there;

37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

43He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

44The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34) Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43) ...www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/142050htm - 9k

From the Bible, Luke 23 ( King James Version)

23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
23:35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

This phrase, which is supposed to be the first of the sayings Jesus uttered on the cross, forms part of a meditation that is used by Christians during the major festivals of the Christian year:

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34)
Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43)
Woman, behold your son: behold your mother. (John 19:26.)
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34)
I thirst. (John 19:28)
It is finished. (John 19:30)
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. (Luke 23:46)

The Tempest Act 4, scene 1, William Shakespeare

Prospero:
Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits, and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd tow'rs, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and
our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

THE PLATONIC AND HINDU ATTITUDES TO LOVE AND SEX

by

Kenneth Walker

"PLATO, who was born in 428-7 B.C., devoted four of his dialogues mainly to the questions of love and sexual pleasure, the Lysis, the Symposium, the Phaedrus and the Philebus, qf which the Symposium and the Phaedrus are by far the most important. The opening words of the Philebus state in the clearest possible form the opposing points of view of the popular pursuit of pleasure and the sterner Platonic attitude:

"Philebus was saying that enjoyment and pleasure and delight, and the class of feelings akin to them, are a good to every living being, whereas I contend, that not these, but wisdom and intelligence and memory, and their kindred, right opinion and true reasoning, are better and more desirable than pleasure for all who are able to partake of them, and that to all such who are or ever will be they are the most advantageous of all things. Have I not given, Philebus, a fair statement of the two sides of the argument? "
Although in the Lysis and the Symposium the treatment is poetical and romantic, in the latter dialogue the inferiority of physical love is considerably stressed. /Page 10/ The seeker for truth is advised to proceed step by step, from the love of human forms to the virtually mystical contemplation of the abstract ideal of beauty itself. This is summarised at the conclusion of Socrates' famous speech:

"He who has been instructed thus far in the things of love, and who has learned to see the beautiful in due order and succession, when he comes toward the end will suddenly perceive a nature of wondrous beauty-a nature which in the first place is everlasting, not growing and decaying, or waxing and waning; secondly, not fair in one point of view and foul in another, or at one time or in one relation or at one place fair, at another time or in another relation or at another place foul, as if fair to some and ioul to others, or in the likeness of a face or hands or any other part of the bodily frame, or in any form of speech or knowledge, or existing in any other being, as for example, in an animal, or in heaven, or in earth, or in any other place; but beauty absolute separate simple and everlasting, which without diminution and without increase, or any change, is imparted to the ever-growing and perishing beauties of all other things. He who from these ascending under the influence of true love, begins to perceive that beauty, is not far from the end. And the true order of going, or being led by another, to the things of love, is to begin from the beauties of earth and mount upwards for the sake of that other beauty, using these as steps only, and from one going on to two, and from two to all fair forms, and from fair arms to fair practices, and from fair practices to fair notions, until from fair notions he arrives at the /Page 11/absolute beauty, and at last knows what the essence of beauty is ... In that communion only, beholding beauty with the eye of the mind, he will be enabled to bring forth, not images of beauty, but realities (for he has hold not of an image but of a reality), and bringing forth and nourishing true virtue to become the friend of god and be immortal, if mortal man may."

The Phaedrus was written in Athens in the fourth century B.C. and probably in Plato's middle years. The opening theme of the work is the art of rhetoric and this leads to a discussion of love. There follows the memorable allegory of the charioteer, Reason, and his two horses, representing the moral and concupiscent elements in human nature. This formulation of the tripartite nature. of the soul has been fundamental to Western philosophy. Here is the distinction which is reflected in the warring of the flesh and the spirit, of which St. Paul and so many later Christian teachers speak. Plato, it is true, did not make an absolute separation of these two aspects of the soul, aware as he was of the ease with which the higher passes into the lower or the lower can be "tamed and humbled, and follow the will of the charioteer". Such concepts are common in the strains of Christian mysticism. St. Francis would gladly have echoed th sentiment of the great final prayer of this work: "Beloved Pan, and all ye other gods who haunt this place, give me beauty in the inward soul: and may the outward and the inward man be at one". But it is undoubted that from the denigration of the senses, cleaHy laid down in Plato's last work, the Laws, and which is certainly implicit in the Phaedrus, 'stems the tenacious tradition in the /Page 12/ West that the body and its desires should be treated with severe discipline, as unworthy of the higher nature of man and tending to deprive him of true happiness and harmony."

"BELOVED PAN AND ALL YE OTHER GODS WHO HAUNT THIS PLACE,

Plato wrote of his teacher Socrates invoking a prayer in a grove of Attica to Pan, god of nature: “Beloved Pan, and all ye other gods who haunt this place, give me beauty in the inward soul; and may the outward and inward man be at one.” A few centuries later, the writer Plutarch described the announcement of the death of Pan in the heyday of the Roman Empire. Thamus, an Egyptian pilot called by a mysterious voice while at sea, is told to announce the death of the god. “Looking toward the land, he said the words as he had heard them: ‘Great Pan is dead.’ Even before he had finished there was a great cry of lamentation, not of one person, but of many, mingled with exclamations of amazement.”

The Death of Pan

Pan, Mikhail Vrubel 1900.If one were to believe the Greek historian Plutarch (in "The Obsolescence of Oracles" (Moralia, Book 5:17)), Pan is the only Greek god who is dead. During the reign of Tiberius (A.D. 14-37), the news of Pan's death came to one Thamus, a sailor on his way to Italy by way of the island of Paxi. A divine voice hailed him across the salt water, "Thamus, are you there? When you reach Palodes,[17] take care to proclaim that the great god Pan is dead." Which Thamus did, and the news was greeted from shore with groans and laments.

Robert Graves (The Greek Myths) suggested that the Egyptian Thamus apparently misheard Thamus Pan-megas Tethnece 'the all-great Tammuz is dead' for 'Thamus, Great Pan is dead!' Certainly, when Pausanias toured Greece about a century after Plutarch, he found Pan's shrines, sacred caves and sacred mountains still very much frequented.

<< Revelation 8 >>
King James Bible

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES IN YOUR OLD KIT BAG AND SMILE SMILE SMILE

Private Perks is a funny little codger
With a smile a funny smile.
Five feet none, he’s and artful little dodger
With a smile a funny smile.
Flush or broke he’ll have his little joke,
He can’t be suppress’d.
All the other fellows have to grin
When he gets this off his chest, Hi!

Chorus
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And smile, smile, smile,
While you’ve a lucifer to light your fag,
Smile, boys, that’s the style.
What’s the use of worrying?
It never was worth while, so
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And smile, smile, smile.

Second Verse
Private Perks went a-marching into Flanders
With his smile his funny smile.
He was lov’d by the privates and commanders
For his smile his funny smile.
When a throng of Bosches came along
With a mighty swing,Perks yell’d out,
This little bunch is mine!
Keep your heads down, boys and sing, Hi!

Third Verse
Private Perks he came back from Bosche-shooting
With his smile his funny smile.
Round his home he then set about recruiting
With his smile his funny smile.
He told all his pals, the short, the tall,
What a time he’d had;
And as each enlisted like a man
Private Perks said ‘Now my lad,’ Hi!

Dear Dan ,Sara, Noah , Rayph, and families. I hope you are well and looking forward to the royal birth of another human child.

Wednesday the 9Ninth of the 9Ninth 09 is a propitious time in the creative evolvment of 973-eht-namuh-973. It surely marks an appropriate time to thank family and friends for all the help, and patient support, that they have given me over the years spent exteriorizing "The Great Work". Its embryonic birth on the internet, precipitated the broadcasting of alien signals from the year 2000.

I am particularly grateful Dan, that you gave so freely and generously of your time and expertise, preparing the original painted images into suitable digital form. And it goes without saying, your help in manifesting forth the "Impossible Triangles". Wonderful and amazing these kaleidoscopic energies of the rainbow cast. Wow brilliant triangular and numerical. Sacred symbols of great magical power.

Thank you also Sara and Dan for involving me, in the sacred threads and rituals of your marriage and naming ceremonies.

I intend marking this fortuitous date by asking family and friends to send me a return e-mail on Wednesday the 9Ninth of the 9Ninth Zero 9Nine. Preferably at 9:0 am or 9:0 pm. Any returned, will be included (minus address) in a new document to be published on the net and intended, amongst other things as a tribute to family and friends. All of which have, in each of their separate ways, contributed to the EVOLUTION R EVOLUTION of this internet Book of Magical Intent.

There is no obligation to respond to this e-mail unless you wish to do so. Its return would be appreciated thus initiating and ensuring completion of this, our joint, ritualistic, creative good and sacred act. Then would it be, that, within mine own minds I, the circle of communication would be closed.

Thank you for your friendship.Dave D.

Love Light and Peace to the all and sundry of universal rainbow thought.

Or occulti, occulto, occultum, occulto, occulti, occultorum, occultis, occultos, or occultis.
Depends on where it is in the sentence.

"The Indians say that thousands of years ago their ancestors travelled on great golden discs which were kept airborne by means of sound vibrations at a certain pitch, produced by continual hammer-blows. This is not so absurd as it may seem. Vibrations of a set frequency may have had the effect of increasing the atomic energy of gold, thus reducing the weight of the disc and enabling it to overcome gravity.'
'… To quote Pauwels and Bergier (op. Cit.,p. 197: ' The U.S. archaeologist Hyatt Verrill spent thirty years investigating the lost civilizations of Central and South America. . . In his fine novel, The Bridge of Light, he described a pre-Incaic city protected by a rocky defile which could only be crossed by a bridge constructed of ionized matter which could be made to appear and diappear at will. Verrill, who died at the age of eighty, insisted to the last that this was much more than a legend, and his wife who survives him, is of the same opinion."

Its embryonic birth on the internet, precipitated the broadcasting of alien signals from the year 2000.

All of which have, in each
of their separate ways, contributed to the EVOLUTION R EVOLUTION of this internet Book of Magical Intent.

There is no obligation to respond to this e-mail unless you wish to do so however its return would be appreciated initiating and ensuring completion of this, our joint, ritualistic, creative good and sacred act. Then would it be
that within mine own minds I, the circle of communication would be closed.

Thank you for your friendship.Dave D.

The 7 Heaven's and Earth's Below

This section of the angels story has been given different names by different theologians. It has been called:
- The seven heavens and the 7 hells
- The 7 celestial mansions and the 7 palaces
of darkness
- The 7 heavens and the seven earths.

These would be similar to the lowlands and highlands of our world. The seven heavens stack one over the top of each other in a straight line.

I am presenting this information by combining in order both 7 Heavens & 7 Earths.

The portrayal of the synthesis for - The 7 Heavens - was made by me using as much as possible the information in hand. Steli :-)

Seven is the maximum number of eclipses of the Sun and Moon that can occur in any one year.

The Seventh Heaven
Araboth
The 7th heaven is the holiest of the holy heavens. Araboth is ruled by Archangel Cassiel and is home to God and his Divine Throne it is also the abode of human souls waiting to be born. It is also home to the highest orders of angels - the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones. It is in the 7th Heaven that Isaiah has a glimpse of God and the Christ and "hears the Most high dictating the program on his (Christs) earthly manifestation and return."

The Seventh Earth
This world's form is very much like that of Earth's, having hills, mountains, valleys and flatlands. Here lies 365 different types of bizarre creatures. These creatures range from having two heads, to having multiple bodies, but are considered to be righteous. They are considered quite superior and live off the aquatic life found there. They have the unique ability to prolong life or bring the dead back to life.

In Enoch 2,8, the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Life are both found in the 3rd Heaven.
The Zohar mentions 390 Heavens and 70,000 worlds.
The gnostic Basilides vouched for 365 Heavens.
Jellenek (in Beth Ha-Midrasch) recalls a legend which tells of 955 Heavens.
In Enoch 2 the Heavens number 10. Here the 8th Heaven is called Muzaloth. The 9th Heaven, home of the 12 signs of the zodiac, is called Kukhavim. The 10th, where Enoch saw the "vision of the face of the Lord", is called Aravoth (Hebrew term for the 12 signs of the Zodiac).
The confusion of the Heavens is clear here from the fact that the signs of the zodiac do not lodge in the Heavens named after them.

The notion of the 7 Heavens appears in The Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs and other Jewish apocrypha, and was familiar to the ancient Persians and Babylonians.
The Persians pictured the Almighty in the highest of the 7 Heavens, "seated on a great white throne, surrounded by winged cherubim."
The Koran also speaks of 7 Heavens.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seven generation sustainability is an ecological concept that urges the current generation of humans to live sustainably and work for the benefit of the seventh generation into the future.

Our generation, the seventh generation since the Alter Rebbe . . . and this generation (the last generation of the exile) immediately becomes the generation of the Geula .

"In every deliberation, we must consider the impact on the seventh generation... even if it requires having skin as thick as the bark of a pine."

“Adah and Zillah, hear my voice;
Wives of Lamech, listen to my speech!
For I have killed a man for wounding me,
Even a young man for hurting me.

If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold,
Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”

—Genesis 4:19-24 (NKJV)

. Read Genesis 4 and 5 carefully and you'll discover that the full flowering of wickedness or righteousness becomes apparent in the seventh generation from Adam in each respective line.

THE SEVENTH SEAL

“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.” Revelation 8:1.

The 7th seal, remember, has still to be opened. Chapter seven was inserted between the 6th and 7th seals simply because that is when the sealing work will occur in the stream of time. But once the 144,000 are sealed, the four angels standing at the four corners of the earth are allowed to release the four winds which will hurt the earth, the sea and the trees. The hurting of the earth, the sea and the trees is in fact the beginning of the 7th seal.

THE SEVEN CHURCHES

Moving to the book of Revelation, we find letters to seven churches in Asia Minor. These seven churches, while they were literal congregations, they are also understood to be a description of a spectrum of seven conditions any church can find itself in. They are also considered symbolic for seven consecutive periods of time, from the Apostolic church to the time of the second coming as follows:

Ephesus ("desirable"), Rev. 2:1-7 — The Apostolic church of the 1st century.
Smyrna ("sweet smelling"), Rev. 2:8-11 — Persecuted by Ancient Pagan Rome.
Pergamos ("elevated by marriage"), Rev. 2:12-17 — Apostate church-state union.
Thyatira ("sacrifice of contrition"), Rev. 2:18-29 — The church of the middle ages.
Sardis ("escape of the remnant"), Rev. 3:1-6 — The Reformation era.
Philadelphia ("brotherly love"), Rev. 3:7-13 — The early 19th century to 1844.
Laodicea ("a people judged"), Rev. 3:14-19 — From 1844 to the second coming.

In astronomy, the Pleiades, or seven sisters, (Messier object 45) are an open star cluster in the constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. Pleiades has several meanings in different cultures and traditions.

The cluster is dominated by hot blue stars that have formed within the last 100 million years. Dust that forms a faint reflection nebulosity around the brightest stars was thought at first to be left over from the formation of the cluster (hence the alternate name Maia Nebula after the star Maia), but is now known to be an unrelated dust cloud in the interstellar medium that the stars are currently passing through. Astronomers estimate that the cluster will survive for about another 250 million years, after which it will disperse due to gravitational interactions with its galactic neighbourhood.

The Babylonian star catalogues name them MUL.MUL or "star of stars", and they head the list of stars along the ecliptic, reflecting the fact that they were close to the point of vernal equinox around the 23rd century BC. Some Greek astronomers considered them to be a distinct constellation, and they are mentioned by Hesiod, and in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. They are also mentioned three times in the Bible (Job 9:9 and 38:31, as well as Amos 5:8). The Pleiades (Krittika) are particularly revered in Hindu mythology as the six mothers of the war god Skanda, who developed six faces, one for each of them. Some scholars of Islam suggested that the Pleiades (Al thuraiya) are the Star in Najm which is mentioned in the Quran.

The Stargate Conspiracy: The Truth about Extraterrestrial life and the Mysteries of Ancient Egypt

In recent years, alternative historians have gained remarkable insight into the mysteries of ancient Egypt-but according to Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince, their discoveries tie into a dangerous conspiracy nearly fifty years in the making.

At the centre of this conspiracy is a group of respected, powerful individuals who believe that the ancient Egyptian gods are real extraterrestrials who will soon return to earth. The conspirators have intimate and exclusive knowledge of this momentous second coming-but they insist on keeping it to themselves. In this riveting, well-researched book, Picknett and Price reveal what this conspiracy means for the rest of mankind-and expose the insidious motivations of the individuals and organizations behind it...

The notion of an intellectual elite as a distinguished social stratum can be traced far back in history. Examples are the philosopher-kings and guardians of Plato's Republic and monks in medieval Europe, who are now seen as custodians of history and culture.

Their well-conceived United Religions Initiative will become a powerful tool to influence the masses toward their desired globalist agenda through a syncretic theology, which rabidly opposes religions, which do not conform to their syncretic doctrines, labelling them as intransigent and intolerant, narrow-minded bigots.

1,2,3,4: PYTHAGORAS

1,2,3,4: PYTHAGORAS AND THE COSMOLOGY OF NUMBER

At the heart of vedic mathematics lies a principle that underscores most, if not all, of the ancient wisdom traditions, the conveying of knowledge through cryptic, highly compressed expressions, open to multiple levels of interpretation. A prime example of this is the teaching of the Greek mathematician and sage Pythagoras. According to his ancient biographers:

"In the Pythagorean school, knowledge was transmitted symbolically, through the use of cryptic statements and riddles, in which a small number of words was pregnant with multiple levels of interpretation. Students were required to find meaning in these enigmatic lessons, sometimes through questioning and dialogue, sometimes by meditating upon their many possible meanings." (1)

If this was true of Pythagorean teachings, it was even more significant in more ancient schools of knowledge; it was, after all, at these schools, in Egypt, Babylon, and elsewhere, that Pythagoras gained his knowledge. In the case of the Indian tradition, both in Vedic times and later in the Hindu and Buddhist periods, the term most commonly encountered for this kind of cryptic literature was the sutra or collection of sutras. While this is often translated as "aphorism," or "formula," the word comes from the Sanskrit root for "thread," a usage that persists in the modern word "suture." As doctors use sutures to sow us up after surgery, the ancient sutras tie together our knowledge and integrate our awareness. There is no better example than the teachings contained in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras whose terse expressions contain instructions for the development of higher states of consciousness. Similarly, all the principles of vedic mathematics are encapsulated in sixteen sutras, which, along with thirteen sub-sutras, provide the basis for all the operations described in "The Cosmic Computer" (2).
If vedic mathematics can be counted as part of vedic literature, its ultimate source is the Rg Veda. This is certainly not concise, consisting of over 10,000 verses, but, as His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has explained, it has a unique structure in which the essence of the whole text is essentially contained in one highly compressed expression--its first word. "It is the purpose of all ciphers to invest a few signs with much meaning," Carlo Suarès tells us. "In the severity of its beginning, in its first chapter, in its first sequence of letter numbers, is the seed, and in the seed is the whole." (3)
Suarès is referring to the beginning of Genesis, in which the process of creation is described, using the symbolism of gematria, in which each letter is given a numerical value. (4) According to Maharishi, the Rg Veda also sets forth a cosmogony in its first word-- Agni, but using a purely linguistic symbolism based on the physiology of speech. The first letter, or sound, AAAAAA…, pronounced with the mouth and throat fully open, and thus with a fully open sound, represents the fullness of the unmanifest, unbounded Brahman. But the letter G, a full glottal stop, introduces the first boundary on the full openness of the sound AAAAAA…. As the wave value of a sub-atomic particle collapses onto a point value when observed, so the unity, or samhita, value of Brahman collapses onto a point and becomes the triadic value of rishi, devata and chhandas, observer, process of observing, and object of observation. From here the process of manifestation begins. As the full stream of manifestation emerges, it leads on to the fullness of creation, and this is represented by the syllable NI, the same name given to the leading tone in Indian music (Sa, Re, Ga, Me Pa, Dha, Ni.....). The details of the process, and the content of manifestation and evolution, are unfolded through the rest of the verses of Rg Veda and commented upon by the rest of Vedic literature, including vedic mathematics.
Unity, duality, diversity, wholeness. These are the mechanics of creation described in different symbolic formulations in different knowledge traditions. To find it in purely mathematical or numerical form we return to the Pythagorean tradition, and its most concise expression comes from his successor Plato. Considered the most Pythagorean of Platonic dialogues, the Timaeus begins with a question by Socrates: "One, two, three ? but where, my dear Timaeus, is the fourth of my guests of yesterday who were to entertain me today?" (5) Commentators usually ignore this statement, but, as we have seen, in ancient literature every expression is "pregnant with multiple levels of meaning." This is particularly true when dealing with numbers.

"He [Pythagoras] held that the ultimate substances of all things, material and immaterial, were numbers, which had two distinct and complimentary aspects. On the one hand, they had a spatial and dynamic existence, and, on the other, they were fundamental formulating principles which were purely abstract. Thus, for example, the monad was understood by the Pythagoreans both as the number one, which had physical properties that could be manipulated in nature, and as an idea, which embodied the original unity at the source of all creation." (6)

The fundamental formulating principles in the universe are those values of unity, duality, diversity and wholeness we have already encountered. In Pythagorean thought these principles are clearly expressed in the first four numbers. Furthermore, this symbolism can be interpreted in terms of the Quadrivium, the four Pythagorean mathematical disciplines: arithmetic, music, geometry and astronomy.
Arithmetic was seen as the study of the abstract essence of things. Thus each number had a cosmological, as well as mathematical, significance. The monad, manifest as the number one, denotes the primordial unity at the basis of creation. The transition from one to two, from the monad to the dyad, represents the first step in the process of creation--unity polarizing within itself becomes duality. Three, the triad, is the first true number. One contains the seed, and two introduces potential. Three brings number into being, causing the potential contained within the monad to manifest into its true expression, the world of plurality and multitude.
If one and two initiate creation, three and four complete the process. Therefore, the tetrad, four, represents completion. Everything in the universe, both natural and numerical, is completed in the progression from one to four as 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10, which brings us to the decad, also known to the Pythagoreans as the tetraktys, and representing their most sacred symbol. The same sequence, from unity to multiplicity via duality and trinity, is expressed even more graphically in the simplest and most basic musical relationships, those expressed through the numbers 1,2,3,4. The simplest and most fundamental musical relationship is the octave, discovered by Pythagoras to be the 1:2 relationship, and by Joseph Saveur (1653-1716) many centuries later, to be the first relationship in the harmonic overtone series. The experience of the octave is of two notes that are the same and yet different, and these values, sameness and difference are the fundamental substances used by the Demiurge to create the World-Soul in the Timaeus. Further, the octave provides the boundary conditions within which the musical universes contained within scales are formed, the values of Do in Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do. Of these intervals, the central ones are those found to be next in the overtone series, 2:3, known as the fifth and 3:4 known as the fourth. These values are found in the first four harmonics of the overtone series, first 1:2 (octave), then 2:3 (fifth) then 3:4 (fourth) recapitulating the octave at the next power of two. In four simple sounds the whole process of unity, duality, multiplicity and wholeness is presented to the awareness.
In subsequent centuries, the science of geometry was developed into a sacred form in which the same process is represented by the circle (unity), contrasted with the square (diversity), and reconciled in the squaring of the circle, in alchemical practice, and the development of the mandala in Eastern art and architecture. "The object of sacred geometry being to depict that fusion of opposites, the squared circle is therefore its first symbol. Temples and cosmological cities throughout antiquity were founded on its proportions." (7) For Pythagoras, the symbolism of wholeness (kosmos) and order (harmonia) extended beyond mathematical to astrological phenomena. A theoretical planet called the counter-earth was posited to bring the number of heavenly bodies in the Pythagorean firmament to ten, the perfect number, the number of the tetraktys. And over time, an association between planets and musical notes was developed and elaborated into the famous "music of the spheres," a beautiful image of the kosmos as a divine harmony.
Having seen its range of implications, it could almost be stated that the sequence 1,2,3,4 sums up, in a compressed symbolism, the whole range of Pythagoreanism. But if we delve deeper into Platonic thought, a further dimension is revealed. In one of his most potent allegories, known as the "Divided Line," Plato sets out his theories of ontology and epistemology, and again it is done in terms of the number four. In this analogy, Plato makes a distinction between the outer realm of the world, illuminated by the sun and the inner realm of the mind, illuminated by the Good. The Divided Line passage divides each of these realms into two further sections. Plato also deals with the state of mind in which the resultant four realms are apprehended, resulting in the following scheme:

Level Object Faculty Type of Knowledge

IV Forms dialectic transcendental cognition } internal III mathematics thinking, scientific understanding } world Etc. reasoning

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

II physical sense common-sense belief } external objects perception } world I shadows illusory illusion (8) perception

It can be seen from this scheme that within the subjective realm of the mind, Plato posits a level of knowledge higher than that which deals with mathematical objects through the processes of thinking and reasoning. This is the level of the forms and it is reached, Plato tells us, through the use of the "second phase" of the dialectic, a technique that, according to Jonathan Shear is similar to the practice of jñana yoga. (9) This again reflects the Pythagorean approach to mathematics, one that must, on some level at least, apply to vedic maths also:

"For Pythagoras, mathematics served as a bridge between the visible and invisible worlds. He pursued the discipline of mathematics not only as a way of understanding and manipulating nature, but also as a means of turning the mind away from the physical world, which he held to be transitory and unreal, and leading it to the contemplation of eternal and truly existing things that never vary. He taught his students that by focusing on the elements of mathematics, they could calm and purify the mind, and ultimately, through disciplined effort, experience true happiness." (10)

EATING IN THE LIGHT OF THE MOON

Anita Johnston 1996

Page 24

A "red herring" describes something designed to confuse or divert attention from something else. Let's say you are following a whodunit and the question is "Who killed the old lady? Was it the maid, the butler, or the chauffeur?" As you are following the mystery along everyone is watching the maid because she was around rhe old lady the most and had been acting suspiciously. At the end of the story, there's a twist and it turns out not to have been the maid v/ho committed the murder, but the butler, who no one suspected because they were busy scrutinizing the maid. The maid is the red herring. She's the distractor.
With disordered eating, food becomes the red herring. It can distract those struggling with an eating disorder as well as concerned family members and friends and even professionals who are trying to help. When we focus on what someone is doing with food we fail to see what the real culprit is. We become caught up in illusions that cause us to stray from the path of recovery, because we start looking for solutions in all the wrong places.

This old English fairy tale is about a girl who longed to touch the stars in the sky.
Every evening, just before falling asleep at night, she would lie in her bed and gaze out at the stars through her bedroom window. On clear nights she would be delighted to see them twinkling ever so brightly. Other nights she would watch them play hide-and-seek with the clouds. On stormy nights, they wouldn't show their faces at all even though she suspected they were still there, hiding behind the clouds.
One warm summer evening when the moon was full the girl decided to satisfy her yearning and set out in search of the stars. She walked and walked until she came to a smooth, glassy pond "Good evening, " the girl said 'Tm off to find the stars in the sky. Can you tel! me how to reach them?"

Page 25

"They're right here in my face, " replied the pond. "jump in and catch them. "
The girl looked at the stars glistening in the pond and jumped right in, her hands cupped so that she might catch one. But not a star did she find.
She went on her way until she came to a bubbling brook.
"Good evening, " said the girl. 'I'm off to find the stars in the sky. Can you help me?"
"Oh, yes, " answered the brook. They are always here, dancing in the water between the stones. Come on in and catch them. "
So the girl waded into the brook, with her hands cupped so she could scoop them up. But not a star did she find.
'1 don't think the stars are really here!" the girl cried in dismay. "Well, they look like they are here, and that's just the same thing, " said the brook.
"No, it's not, " insisted the girl.
She continued on her way until she encountered a group of fairies dancing on a hill. "Good evening, " said the girl as she approached the wee folk. 'I'm off to find the stars in the sky. Cdn you help me?"
"They are right here, in the dew on the grass where we are dancing. Come and dance with us and you will catch one. "
. So the girl danced and danced with the ring of fairies, swooping down with her hands, trying to scoop up some stars. But not a star did she find. In frustration, she sat on a mossy stump and said to the fairies as they whirled by, 'I've searched and searched for the stars but I cannot find them. Can't you help me?"
One of the fairies began to dance around her, and with a high, sweet voice said, "Since you are so determined to find the stars, I will tell you how to reach them: If you will not go backward, then go forward. Be sure to take the right road. Ask Four-Feet to carry you to

Page 26

No-Feet, who will carry you to the Stairs Without Steps. If you can climb them, you will reach the stars. "
The girl quickly stood up and began to go forward, making sure she was on the right road. She came to a horse grazing underneath a tree. "Good evening, " she said. 'Tm off to find the stars in the sky. Can you carry me there?"
'1 don't know the whereabouts of the stars in the sky, " said the horse. "My purpose is to serve the fairies. "
'1 was just dancing with them, " said the girl, "and they told me to ask Four-Feet to carry me to No-Feet."
"Well, I am Four-Feet, and if the fairies say I am to take you to No-Feet, then climb on my back and off we'll go, " said the horse.
The girl rode and rode until they came to the end of the land where the sea stretched out in front of them as far as the horizon. ~y off in the distance was a ribbon of brilliant colors that arched up into the sky.
The girl slid off the horse's back and stood at the water's edge. A very large fish swam up to her. "Good evening, " said the girl. 'Tm looking for the Stairs Without Steps. Can you take me there?"
'1 am not available to serve anyone who asks. I am only to do the bidding of the fairies, " replied the fish.
"I was just dancing with them and was told to ride Four-Feet who would carry me to No-Feet who would carry me to the Stairs \"Without Steps. "
"\Well in that case, hop on my back. I am No-Feet, and I will carry you to the Stairs Without Steps, " said the fish.
Off they went, the girl holding tightly to the fish's back until they reached the horizon where the brilliant colors arched high up into the sky. "Here they are, " said the fish. "Be careful as you go up. They are not easy to climb. "

Page 27

The girl slid off the fish's back and began to climb the bright arch of many colors. The fish was right. They were not easy to climb. But she moved slowly and cautiously, inching her way along. As she became weary she would occasionally lose her grip and slip backwards. It was cold and she was surrounded by darkness, but she pressed on until she reached the top of the arch where she was surrounded by brilliant light. At last! There they were-the stars in the sky! She reached out with her hand to touch one of the shimmering stars. As she reached farther and farther, she suddenly lost her balance, and with a sigh that was half regret, half contentment, she fell, slipping and sliding, faster and faster into the darkness below.
When she opened her eyes, it was morning and she found herself in her bed. 'I did reach the stars, didn't !?" she wondered "Or did I only dream it?"
Then she looked at her hand that was still tightly clenched into a fist, and as she slowly opened it, she saw a speck of stardust.

CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD BOOK 3

An uncommon dialogue

Neale Donald Walshch 1998

Page 347

"Do you remember the parable of The Little Soul and the Sun that I gave you in Book 1?
There is a second half to that parable. Here it is:
"You may choose to be any Part of God you wish to be," I said to the Little Soul. "You are Absolute Divinity, experiencing Itself. What Aspect of Divinity do you now wish to experience as You?"
"You mean I have a choice?" asked the Little Soul.
And I answered, "Yes. You may choose to experience any Aspect of Divinity in, as, and through you."
"Okay, ," said the Little Soul, "then I choose Forgiveness. I want to experience my Self as that Aspect of God called Complete Forgiveness."
Well, this created a little challenge, as you can imagine.
There was no one to forgive. All I have created is Perfection and Love.
"No one to forgive?" asked the Little Soul, somewhat incredulously.
"No one," I repeated. "Look around you. Do you see any souls less perfect, less wonderful than you?"
At this the Little Soul twirled around and was surprised to see himself surrounded by all the souls in heaven. They had come from far and wide throughout the Kingaom, because they heard that the Little Soul was having an extraordinary conversation with God.
. "I see none less perfect than I!" the Little Soul exclaimed; "Who, then, shall I have to forgive?"
Just then, another soul stepped forward from the crowd. "You may forgive me," said this Friendly Soul.
"For what?" the Little Soul asked.
"I will come into your next physical lifetime and do something for you to forgive," replied the Friendly Soul.
"But what? What could you, a being of such Perfect Light, do to make me want to forgive you?" the Little Soul wanted to know.
-"Oh," smiled the Friendly Soul, "I'm sure we can think of something."
"But why would you want to do this?" ihe Little Soul could not figure out why a being of such perfection would want to slow down its vibration so much that it could actually do something "bad."
"Simple," the Friendly Soul explained, "I would do it becanse I love you. You want to experience your Self as Forgiving, don't you? Besides, you've done the same for me."
"I have?" asked the Little Soul.
"Of course. Don't you remember? We've been All Of it, you and I. We've been the Up and the Down of it, and,-the Left and the -Right of it. We've been the Here _ arId the There of it, and the Now and the Then of it.
We've been the Big and the Small of it, the Male and the Female of it, the Good and the Bad of it. We've all been the All of It.
U And we've done it by agreement, so that each of us might experience ourselves as The Grandest Part of .God. For we have understood that. ...
"In the absence of that which You Are Not, that which You ARE, is NOT.
"In the absence of 'cold,' you cannot be 'warm.' In - the absence of 'sad,' you cannot be 'happy,' withou~ a thing called 'evil,' the experience you call 'good' cannot exist.
If )Iou choose to be a thing, something or someone opposite to that has to show up somewhere in your universe to make that possiple."
The Frienaly Soul then explained that those people are Gcd's Special Angels, and these Connditions God's Gifts. "I ask only one thing in return," the Friendly Soul deL!!ued.
"Anything! Anything," the Little Soul cried. He was excited now to know that he could experience every _ Divine Aspect of God. He understood, now, The Plan.

Page 349

"In the moment that I strike you and smite you," said the Friendly Soul, "in the moment that I do the worst to you that you could ever imagine-in that selfsame moment ... remember Who I Really Am."
"Oh, I won't forget!" promised the Little Soul. "1 will see you in the perfection with which I hold you now, and I will remember Who You Are, always."
That is ... that is an extraordinary story, an incredible parable.
And the promise of the Little Soul is the promise I make to you. That is what is unchanging. Yet have you, My Little Soul, kept this promise to others?
Do not be sad. Be happy to notice what is true, and be joyous in your decision to live a new truth.
For God is a work in progress, and so are you. And remember this always:
If you saw you as God sees you, you would smile a lot.
So go, now, and see each other as Who You Really Are.
Observe. Observe. OBSERVE.
I have told you-the major difference between you and highly evolved beings is that highly evolved beings observe more.
If you wish to increase the speed with which you are evolving, seek to observe more.
And I would have you now observe that you, too, are an event. You are a human, comma, being. You are a process. And you are, in any given "moment," the product of your process.

Page 351

You are the Creator and the Created. I am saying these things to you over and over again, in these last few moments we have together. I am repeating them so that you will hear them, understand them
Now, this process that you and r are is eternal. It always was, is now, and always will be occurring. It needs no "help" from you in order to occur. It happens "automatically." And, when left alone, it happens perfectly.
There is another saying that has been placed into your culture by Werner Erhard-life resolves itself in the process of life itself.
This is understood by some spiritual movements as "let go and let God." That is a good understanding.
If you will just let go, you will have gotten yourself out of the "way." The "way" is The Process-which is called life itself. This is why all masters have said, "I am the life and the way." They have understood what I hav~ said here perfectly. They are the life, and they are the way-the event in progress, The Process.
All wisdom asks you to do is trust The Process. That is, trust God. Or, if you wish, trust yourself, for Thou Art God.
Remember, We Are All One.
How can I "trust the process" when the "pro~ess"-life-keeps bringins me things I don't like?
Like the things life keeps bringing you!
Know and understand that you are bringing it to your Self.
SEE THE PERFECTION.
See it in everything, not just in things that you call perfect. I have carefully explained to you in this trilogy why things happen the way they happen, and how. You do not need to read that material again here-although it might do you benefit to review it often, until you understand it thoroughly.
Please-just on this one point-a summarizing insight.
Please. How can I "see the perfection" of something that I experience as not perfect at all?
No one can create your experience of anything. Other beings can, and do, co-create the exterior circumstances and events of the life you live in common, but the one thing that no one else can do is cause you to have an experience of ANYTH ING you do not choose to experience.
In this, you are a Supreme being. And no one-NO ONE-ean tell you "how to be."
The world can present you with circumstances, but only you decide what those circumstances mean.
Remember the truth I gave you long ago. Nothing matters.
Yes. I'm not sure I fully understood it then. That came to me in an out-of-body experience in 1980. I recall it vividly.
That I was confused at first. How could "nothing matter"?
Where would the world be, where would I be, if nothing mattered at all?
What answer did you find to that very good question?
I "got" that nothing mattered intrinsically, in and of itself, but that I was adding meaning to events, and so, causing them to matter. I got this at a very high metaphysical level as well, giving me a huge insight about the Process of Creation itself.
I "got" that all is energy, and that energy turns into "matter" -that is, physical "stuff" and "occurrences"-according to how I thought about them. I understood, then, that "nothing matters" means that nothing turns into matter except as we

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT

Dylan Thomas

(27 October 1914 – 9 November 1953)

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

RISHI

ETYMOLOGY

The word's etymology is unknown. It has an Avestan cognate ərəšiš (Yasna 31.5) "an ecstatic" (see also Yurodivy, Vates). Monier-Williams tentatively suggests derivation from drś "to see"(1) and he also compares Old Irish arsan, "a sage, a man old in wisdom". Manfred Mayrhofer in his Etymological Dictionary prefers a connection to either (omitted) "pour, flow" (PIE) *h1ers), or to ras "yell".

In the Vedas, the word denotes a singer of sacred hymns, an inspired poet or sage, or any person who alone or with others invokes the deities in rhythmical speech or song of a sacred character. In particular, it refers to the authors of the hymns of the Rigveda, e.g. Kutsa, Atri, Rebha, Agastya,Kushika, Vasishtha, Vyashva. Later generations regarded the Rishis as patriarchal sages or saints, occupying the same position in India history as the heroes and patriarchs of other countries, constituting a peculiar class of beings in the early mythical system, as distinct from Asuras, Devas and mere mortal men.

Seven Rishis (the Saptarshi) are often mentioned in the Brahmanas and later works as typical representatives of the character and spirit of the pre-historic or mythical period; in Shatapatha Brahmana 14.5.2.6, their names are Gautama, Bharadvaja, Vishvamitra, Jamadagni, Vasishtha, Kashyapa, and Atri. In Mahabharata 12, on the other hand, Marici, Atri, Angiras, Pulaha, Kratu, Pulastya and Vasishtha. In addition to the Saptarshi, there are other classifications of sages. In descending order of precedence, they are Brahmarshi, Maharshi, Rajarshi.

In Vedic astronomy, the Saptarsh form the constellation of Ursa Major (e. g. RV 10.82.2; AV. 60.40.1. Metaphorically the Saptarsh may stand for the seven senses or the seven vital airs of the body.

"Seven Rishis (the Saptarsh) are often mentioned in the Brahmanas"

"In Vedic astronomy, the Saptarsh form the constellation of Ursa Major"

"Saptarsh may stand for the seven senses or the seven vital airs of the body"

THE MYSTERIES OF THE SNOWFLAKE

Mysteries of the snowflake: The curious world of ... - The Independent

› News › Environment › Nature‎

5 Jan 2013 - Mysteries of the snowflake: The curious world of the ice-crystal experts ... The ice crystals, nestling in the ice clouds as unborn snowflakes, ...

Everybody loves snow, right? But not many of us are obsessed, like the scientists who study these icy enigmas. Nicola Gill enters the curious world of 'dendrites' and 'plates'

Mathematician and philosopher René Descartes is one of many fine minds through the ages to be fascinated by snowflakes and to ponder how such perfection could be created.

While every flake really is a law unto itself, other supposed snow ‘facts’ are not quite so true. The oft-quoted idea that it’s ‘too cold to snow’ is nonsense (it snows at the South Pole where it’s rarely above -40C), and even the apparent truism that snow is white turns out to be slushy logic. Ice crystals are clear, like glass, but when they form a large pile, light is reflected off the surface, bounces around and eventually scatters back out. Since all colours are scattered roughly equally, snow only appears to be white.

These, and many other reasons, are why world-renowned snowflake obsessive, California-based Ken Libbrecht, has made it his life’s work to study, photograph and ‘grow’ snowflakes. The author of several beautiful books showcasing his favourite flakes out of the 7,000 he has photographed, he lives and breathes dendrites, rosettes and plates. “There is something magical about snowflakes,” he says from his laboratory in Pasadena. “You don’t often see such complex symmetry in nature and that makes them extraordinary. The whole intriguing structure of a snow crystal simply arises quite literally out of thin air, as it tumbles through the clouds. The way the crystal grows depends on the temperature it is shaped in – a simple enough idea to grasp – but the underlying physics is fiendishly complicated and has remained a puzzle. I spend a lot, and I mean a lot, of time thinking about this.”

Inevitably, though, the most common question is, how can Libbrecht be so sure no two snowflakes are ever identical? He likes to tell people that physics has a Zen-like answer, “which is that it depends largely on what you mean by the question. The short answer is that if you consider there’s over a trillion ways you could arrange 15 different books on your bookshelf, then the number of ways of making a complex snowflake is so staggeringly large that, over the history of our planet, I’m confident no two identical flakes have ever fallen. The long answer is more involved – depending on what you mean by ‘alike’ and ‘snowflake’. There could be some extremely small, simple-shaped crystals that looked so alike under a microscope as to be indistinguishable – and if you sifted through enough Arctic snow, where these simple crystals are common, you could probably find a few twins.”

The short answer is that if you consider there’s over a trillion ways you could arrange 15 different books on your bookshelf,

THE INDEPENDENT MAGAZINE

Wednesday 11 September 2013

Mysteries of the snowflake: The curious world of the ice-crystal experts.

The long answer is more involved – depending on what you mean by ‘alike’ andsnowflake’. There could be some extremely small, simple-shaped crystals that looked so alike under a microscope as to be indistinguishable – and if you sifted through enough Arctic snow, where these simple crystals are common, you could probably find a few twins.”

"The short answer is that if you consider there’s over a trillion ways you could arrange 15 different books on your bookshelf,"

Why is the Letter E the Most Common Letter in the English ...
https://englishlanguagethoughts.com › 2018/04/08 › w...

8 Apr 2018 — The letter makes up 12.702% of the letters in an average text, and is the most commonly-used letter in English. The next most frequently-used ...This is a question I’ve been asking myself ruefully these last few days. The E on my keyboard hasn’t been very coöperative, insisting that I bang it at least a few times for it to make the letter E appear on the screen. This has made me really… appreciate, for wont of a better word, just how often we have to use the letter E.
